Aquilaria crassna (Agarwood) is a tropical tree from Malaysia & Indonesia. It is mainly grown for its oil crops (very long shelflife), but also

can be produced. The crop is harvested by ground gathering. It starts flowering after 7 - 9 years.

Aquilaria crassna thrives in an altitude of 200 to 900 meters above sea-level (tropical). The minimum temperature is 7°C and optimally between 22 - 29°C. The optimal rainfall is 4300 mm/year. Without irrigation the annual rainfall should be between 1300 - 6000 mm (L/m²).
