Albizia harveyi (Sickle-leaved albizia) is a tropical tree from Southern Africa. It is mainly grown for its conservation crops (medium shelflife), The crop is harvested by total removing. It starts flowering after 3 - 6 years. After 25 years the tree can be totally removed as it reached its commercial and ecological goal. Albizia harveyi has a lifespan of 50 years.
Albizia harveyi thrives in an altitude of 50 to 2100 meters above sea-level (tropical). The minimum temperature is 1°C and optimally between 18 - 28°C. The optimal rainfall is 1400 mm/year. Without irrigation the annual rainfall should be between 400 - 2000 mm (L/m²).
