Description and Uses

Antheroporum pierrei (Pierrei bean) is a tropical tree from South East Asia. It is mainly grown for its medicinal crops (long shelflife), but also apiculture, and medicinal can be produced. There are no edible parts.. Medical uses include; "anti-cancer", and "high vitamin-C content". The seed/nut contains Pierreione B (? - ?).


Environmental limitations

It is able to fix nitrogen with bacteria. The tree`s flower-morphology is hermaphroditic and is pollinated by bees. Antheroporum pierrei is evergreen and and has no thorns.

Antheroporum pierrei thrives in an altitude of 0 to 900 meters above sea-level (tropical). The minimum temperature is 4°C and optimally between 20 - 30°C.
