Welcome to rozendale.com; a database website about perennial plant species for agriculture, agroforestry and landscaping. The goal of this website is to increase afforestation throughout the world. The ecological and commercial benefits of plant species which are described on this website aim to motivate website visitors to plant more perennial crops.

Incompletenss

In the right side-bar is a list of species that are in the database. By clicking on one of them there will be an information page, but most of the species so far are not completely filled. For registered users there will be the feature to edit the content and to complete the information about species. It is also possible to add new species. Only when the form is completed the species will appear under the tab completed species.

Consultancy in tropical agriculture

Under the tab intercopping models (only visible for registered users) is a list of plantation plans for primary crops that benefit from other crops if they are intercropped in the first years. Crops that do benefit farmers ecologically and financially are crops that comply to ecological and commercial rules. For each intercropping model those rules are described and explained and the after the link for every crop type there will be a catalog of crops that meet those rules. Except those climatic limitations because those vary from each user, so those should you do manually by selecting one of the species in the catalog. Notice the importance of completing all the information about species in the database because the search filters need the information from the database to filter the right crop.

For every intercropping model there will be a plantation plan that can be printed out. And the names of your selected crops from the filtered catalogs can be filled in. The map of intercropping models also contains a map of the planting distances. 

How to get all the selected species for your intercropping model?

After making a selection of species for your plantation plan you might find species that are not available in your country. There are also species that are only available in your country and not in other countries. Therefore it's possible for registered users to trade in seed species. This website is not responsible for illegal shipments. The trade of seeds will be issued by the website users. However, it is forbidden to advertice seeds on this website which are; invasive or drug species. There might also be a requirement for fungicidal treatment of seeds. And a forum for users to report deviations; such as, impurity, insects, fungi, swindle, or sending invasive or drug species. Each seed supplier can make a good business by selling seeds worldwide when they have a good reputation on their profile.

How to establish the plantation?

All the information that you need for the plantation establishment can be found on this website: You need to print out the Intercropping model and the information pages of the selected crops. At every information page there will be germination instructions and more detailed information. In the list of completed species is more information about a crop than any other website. The sources that are used to get this information are from different sources. Mainly from www.agroforestry.com and from published scientific researches.

How to register?

Since the website is still under development only limited people can get a username and password and change the password later.

Objectives

Objective for September 2016

• The photographed species from Kenya by Daniel and species from the Netherlands and Israel by Maarten must be edited and completed by filling in all the questions in the edit-form (only for registered users).
• The database table of all the species must have relation with the database table of all pests and the table of all diseases. Because in the edit-form is a question: "Which pests and diseases does the species have?" A drop-box should be created whereby multiple answers can be selected from those other two tables.

Objective for October 2016

• The table of advertisements must be able to select species from the table of species. And it must be able to select the user from the table of users; automatically if the user is logged in.

Objective for November 2016

• The advertentions must have a better location on the website: a primary place, a secondary place, and a free place.
• The website must be transformed into a webshop without losing content.
• It costs money for registered users to put advertisements on the primary or secondary place of this website.
