By using a planting distance of 3 x 10.4 meters a hexagonal planting distance of 12 meters will be reached in the long term.
The long term crops need that wide distance in the long run, but do not give the farmer any benefit in the short and medium term.
In the medium term crops grow in 6 x 10.4 meters and by clicking on edit you can define the timespan of your "medium term" and "short term".
Those crops do give the farmer short and medium term income because of the ICM-filter 1 and 2 that have been applied.
By using a dread of 100 meters you can make a straight line in the field and make a planting hole for every 3 meters.
By applying the 3-4-5 method you can make the next line paralel and perpendicular to the previous planting holes.

1. ICM003 filters all short term crops (6) that can be commercially harvested before your defined time.
2. It filters all medium term crops (3-5) that can be commercially harvested before your defined time.
3. There are is no shallow rooted tree bordered with another shallow rooted tree.
4. The "short term crop" is fixing nitrogen in order to improve soil fertility.
5. It filters only crops that grow in your climate, altitude, and rainfall
If your climate is tropical and your altitude is higher than 1500 meters you may select "temperate" as climate
and and deduct 1500 from your current altitude in order to find possible suitable crops; however, the flowering of
plants sometimes require long-daylight period or cold winters.
