Description and Uses
Acacia saligna (Willow wattle) is a
tropical
tree from
Southern Australia . It is mainly grown for its
fuel crops
, which have a
no shelf life. The crop is harvested by
total removing. It starts flowering after
2 -
3 years. The yield will be
inapplicable, but in its top season there will be a yield of
4 meters/trunk fuel. Other crop types include;
fodder, timber, fuel, ornamental, gum resin, apiculture, mycorrhizal spread. The
{missing data} is used as
inedible . The

anti-arthritic activity, " with
{missing data} (0% -
0%) as its significant
phytochemical. There is
acacia seed oil extracted by
steam distillation from the
tree's
seed/nut yielding
6% -
12% oil. The
tree's wood is called
acacia fuel wood and has a density of
550 -
650 kg/m³. Regarding firewood production the
tree's growing speed is
medium, it's energetic value is
4200 ckal/kg and the wood's drying speed is
medium. After
8 years the
tree can be totally removed as it reached its commercial and ecological goal.
Acacia saligna has a lifespan of
25 years.
Environmental limitations
The tree is
8 meters tall with a crown of
5 meters wide. The
tree prefers a planting distance of
300 cm and a row distance of
300 cm. It is
fast growing and
intolerant to shade.
Acacia saligna has a
deep root-system and it has symbiotic associations with the
fungi
(endo-mycorrhiza high). It is
able to fix nitrogen moderately with
"Microbacteriaceae bacteria. The name(s) or string of bacteria include(s)
"not applicable ". The
tree's flower-morphology is
hermaphroditic and is pollinated by
bees.
Acacia saligna is
evergreen and
not allelopathic and has
no thorns.
Acacia saligna thrives in an altitude of
1 to
300 meters above sea-level
(tropical). The minimum temperature is
1°C; optimally between
23 -
36°C. The optimal rainfall is
650
mm/year. Without irrigation the annual rainfall should be between
350 -
600mm (L/m²). The optimal soil-pH is between
7.0 -
9.0 in a soil texture of
sand. To salt it is
a bit tolerant to wind
a bit tolerant and to fire
a bit tolerant.
Pests and Diseases

Coptotermes curvignathus
. And it's susceptible to the following diseases:

Seed Propagation
Seeds are
orthodox and can be stored for
30 months. There are approximative
16500
seeds/kg. The seeds can be propagated as followed:
